Maggie May

0 February 17, 2012 in Felines
Maggie May was a very beautiful brown tabby with white Maine Coon. We bought her from an excellent Maine Coon cattery and for 14 years she was a strong healthy girl. She never got sick unless she got too close to chemicals when the windows were open. She spent all her time indoors except for Vet trips in the car, She went in or a dental around her 14th birthday, had one tooth removed and seemed fine.

A few months later she came down with lymphoma. We are still baffled, she had tested neg for Felv and Fiv. She had Chemo treatments an went into remission, but it hid in her bones and came back like gang busters a few months later. We got nealy 3 months of quality time with her thanks to Chemo, but we still don't understand how such a healthy, strong girl like Maggie could have left us so fast. She was only 14 1/2 years old. We miss her terribly and still wonder if that dental had something to do with this. The Vet who did her dental, her cat came down with lymphoma the same week as Maggie. Could there have been a connection?
