Topsy's Case Study

Other Diseases/Conditions:
None, healthy 4 year old

Story: My very healthy and always hungry kitty, suddenly seemed less interested in his dry food and began to lose weight. A annual check up indicated a loss of protein but first we tried a change of diet. Weight loss continued so after an xray and ultrasound with aspiration of cells, the lymphoma diagnosis was confirmed. We have just begun with Prednisone and will keep you posted...so far so good. Other than very thin, he purrs, bright eyes, etc...still working on increase the food intake.

Outcome: Updated March 2008 - After a week on Prednisone alone, was able to see an oncologist who could actually feel the tumor-a kitty cocktail of B12, large dose of steroid and Pepcid gave him a few extra days but by the 16th he was unable to eat--due to the cancer taking over the stomach area, just licked gravy type food...no vomiting or diarhea...took him to vet on 3.17.08-St. Pat's Day to cross the Rainbow Bridge to the catnip and clover. He will always be my baby.

Outcome: Pending.
