Other Diseases/Conditions:
Continuous upper respiratory

Story: I got buddy at 2 wks old -- more dead than alive from uri. Bottle fed, force fed, dangled over steam to keep his airways open--etc. He has grown to be a beautiful black/white cat. He`ll be only 2 in July/07. Brought in for annual vaccines late Feburary & vet found his tumour. Exploratory showed 1 & 3/4 kidneys involved in this tumour. Feline leuk tests proved neg & biopsies showed Renal Lymphoma. He has had 7 weekly injections of vincristine & I give him cCyclophosamide every other day as well as Prednisone transdermal every day. He has had to be force fed a good deal of the time, which he likes having done. He`s doing remarkably well & after a weight loss of 1 1/2 lbs--he`s gaining weight. On palpation, the tumour is shrinking and I`m hoping to get much more time with him. He has 1 more treatment left then we have to figure out the next step--ie: maintenence treatment. Thanks for reading his story, I hope we can help others decide when faced with this type pf cancer.

PS--Vincristine should never be given in the neck &and never given without a pre and post flush. We learned the hard way as the first 2 treatments were done in his jugglers and they have not healed yet.

Outcome: Still doing well.
