Tristan's Story
by Linnea

Tristan is a 14 1/2 male tabby that I have had since he was 8 weeks old. He is the love of my life. :) He battled a little with digestion issues his whole life and had a UTI when he was very young.

In November 2009 Tristan stopped eating/going to the bathroom. He didn't appear sick, but just slept for about 5 days straight. I brought him to the vet where they suspected IBD or lymphoma. We had an ultrasound done that night where they noticed some thickening in his small intestines. This vet believed it was large cell lymphoma and had a dire outlook. They said the only way to get a true diagnosis was to have an invasive surgery/biopsy done.

Currently, Tristan is on .8mg of Leukeran every other day and 5mg of prednisolone daily.

I have also been working with a nutritionist who has put Tristan on a vitamin regiment and some quality food.

Outcome:January 2010: As of January 5th (6 weeks later) the thickening in Tristan's intestines was no longer visible on the ultrasound! He is so much happier and more energetic. His blood work is improving, but his kidney values are slightly elevated. He also gets B12 shots. It's only been 6 weeks but I hope and pray that his health continues to improve. :)
